What's the Flange Heater 1?

2026-01-21

The industrial explosion-proof flange heater is a type of tubular electric heating equipment specially designed for installation and fixation through flange connections in environments with flammable and explosive hazards.

In simple terms, it is a combination of "explosion-proof technology", "flange installation structure" and "electric heating core". It is a dedicated device for providing safe and efficient heat sources in dangerous areas of industrial fields such as chemical, petroleum, and natural gas.

Core Feature: Why is "Explosion-proof" Required?

In areas where there may be flammable and explosive substances such as gas (such as natural gas, hydrogen, solvent vapors), dust (such as coal dust, aluminum powder, grain dust), etc., the electric sparks or high-temperature surfaces of ordinary electrical appliances may cause an explosion.

Explosion-proof heaters fundamentally eliminate this risk through special design:

1. Sealing isolation: All components that may generate sparks or high temperatures, such as Heating Elements and connection terminals, are completely sealed within a sturdy enclosure.

2. Flameproof enclosure: Even if an electric arc or explosion occurs inside, the high-strength enclosure can withstand the explosion pressure and prevent the spread of flames to the external hazardous environment.

3. Temperature control: Through precise temperature sensors and control systems, the surface temperature of the heater is always kept below the ignition point (self-ignition temperature) of the surrounding medium.

4. Compliant with standards: It must pass the explosion-proof certification from authoritative national institutions (such as CNEx in China, ATEX in the EU, UL/CSA in North America, etc.) and be labeled with the explosion-proof rating.

Structure Analysis: What is "Flange Style"?

"Flange" is a standardized disc-shaped connection piece. It can be easily fixed to the tank, pipeline or reaction vessel by using bolts.

Typical component composition:

· Heating tube bundle: The core part, composed of metal tubes (such as stainless steel, titanium), resistance wires, and high-purity insulating conductive magnesium oxide powder, converting electrical energy into thermal energy.

· Flange plate: Usually welded at the root of the tube bundle, used for connection with equipment. There are standards such as Chinese national standard, American standard, and Chemical Industry standard, etc.

· Explosion-proof wiring chamber: An independent sealed chamber for safely connecting power lines, one of the key structures for explosion prevention.

· Temperature sensor (thermocouple/thermoresistor): Inserted into the heating tube bundle or a dedicated sleeve, used for real-time monitoring and control of temperature.

· Explosion-proof housing and seals: Ensuring the airtightness of the entire electrical part.
